The Technology of Synchronous Zero-crossing Switch based on Mechanical Contact

CBC Tech summarized the characteristics and disadvantages of mechanical contactor, contactless thyristor and compound switch. Then, based on years of development and practical experience, it developed a new generation switch, using microelectronic software and hardware technology to effectively control mechanical electromagnetic relay contacts, to realize the technology of synchronous zero-crossing switching of low voltage power capacitor.

When the two-stage AC voltage is zero, the contact is closed, and when the two-stage AC current is zero, the contract is opened. Thus, the impact of inrush current on the system voltage could be avoided when the capacitor is put into operation, reducing equipment loss and improving capacitor life.

Low Voltage Power Capacitor

The low voltage power capacitor in the product is self-healing low voltage parallel compensation capacitor, in which a gradually thickened zinc-aluminum metallized polypropylene film is used as a dielectric, with high stability and reliability. In capacitors of the same brand, the larger the electric capacity of a single capacitor, the longer its core element and the thicker its diameter. The long element increases the resistive loss and the thick one has a large conductive layer which increases the temperature difference between interior and exterior, making it easier for the conductive layer to separate from the polar plates. Therefore, the use of single large-capacity capacitors is not as reliable as the use of small capacitors in parallel, which could effectively increase the switching level of the capacitor. Meanwhile, the temperature sensor is built in the capacitor to reflect the internal heat degree of the capacitor under the condition of overvoltage, over harmonics, excessive leakage current and excessive ambient temperature, so as to realize over-temperature protection.

Closing without inrush current can make voltage zero-crossing input and make current zero-crossing removal. The synchronous switching can completely avoid overvoltage, overvoltage breakdown, arcing and reignition.

When many machines work together, the master machine will be automatically generated and the rest will be slave machines, forming an automatic reactive power control system. The individual failed salve machine will automatically exit without affecting the work of others. When the master machine is failed, it will automatically exit and a new host will be regenerated, forming a new system to continue the work, which is highly intelligent.

The single capacitor displays the working condition and the status of the electrical circuit. The human-machine interface is simple and straightforward.
